THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, May 25, 2008.

Debra Ann Holdren, 56, of Maxwell, died Thursday, May 22, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at St. Mary's Church in Elkhart with Father Bob Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. following visitation.

Holdren was born in Carroll Aug. 22, 1951, the daughter of Edgar and Alita (Reinhart) Snyder. She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Breda in 1969 and from the University of Iowa in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish. She was married to Randy Holdren on June 19, 1976, in Breda. She was a homemaker and a bank clerk for Bankers Trust. She worked for Donnelley Marketing. Holdren retired in 2006.

Debra was a member of St. Mary's Church in Elkhart, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Collins/Maxwell Booster Club. She enjoyed reading, Word Jumbles and following her children's sporting events. She loved her kids and "waking up in the morning!"

Survivors include husband, Randy, of Maxwell; two sons, Christopher Holdren serving in the Coast Guard and Michael Holdren, of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Becca Holdren, of Maxwell; her parents, Edgar and Alita Snyder, of Breda; five brothers, Joe (Marilyn) Snyder, of Lawrence, Kan.; Ron (Pat) Snyder, of Oakland, Calif.; Jim (Nancy) Snyder, of Wichita, Kan.; Tim (Kathi) Snyder, of Breda; Marty (Carol) Snyder, of Breda; and one sister, Ann (Russ) Polking of Newton.

Memorials may be made to the Debra Holdren Memorial Fund.

Bacon Funeral Home of Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
