Luetta Lavon Corbin, 77, of Nevada, died Sunday, May 4, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1110 11th St., in Nevada, with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 tonight at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. A vigil will be at 7 p.m.
Luetta was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Union Township, Story County, to Claude Russell and Hazel Lottie (Groseclose) Appelgate. She married Lawrence "Abe" Corbin Jan. 28, 1950, in Nevada. She retired from Donnelley Marketing in 1989. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Bible study group, Story County Hospital Auxiliary and the church's bereavement ministry group and prayer chains. She loved her dog, Taffy, and enjoyed doing crafts and handwork, family vacations, the Hawkeyes and Christmas.
She is survived by three daughters, Claudette R. (Patrick) Staab, of Marcus, Karen L. (Dennis) Myers, of Nevada, and Elaine Y. (Alan) Crabbs, of Maxwell; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Alberta (Duane) Stansbury, of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Leonard Coleman, in 1966; and her husband, Abe, on Feb. 5, 1989.
Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
