La Donna Hendrick, 80, formerly of rural McCallsburg, died early Saturday morning April 12, at Hubbard Care Center. Services are pending at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.

LaDonna Mae Hendrick, 80, of Hubbard Care Center, died Saturday, April 12. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Zearing. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Zearing.

LaDonna Mae Hendrick was born Sept. 22, 1927, in rural St. Anthony, to Dave and Agnes (Lyons) Tucker. She was a graduate of Liberty Consolidated School in 1945. She married Albert Hendrick Feb. 27, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Anthony. They farmed their entire married life in Story County near Nevada until Albert's death in March 1998, after 49 years of marriage.

She worked at NESCO Community School as the school secretary until she retired in July 1989. She thoroughly enjoyed being with and helping young people. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 334 of McCallsburg, and an active member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Zearing. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Cathy and her husband, Bob Ziebell, of Hubbard; two sons, Gary and his wife, Kelly, and Mark and his wife, Pam, all of McCallsburg; six grandchildren, Amy and her husband, Austin Faris, of Eldora, Jason Ziebell, Gannon Hendrick, Brandon and his wife, Dana Hendrick, Jill Hendrick, and Bryce Hendrick; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Logan Faris; three sisters, Doris Womeldorff, of McCallsburg, Mary and Ed Faris, of New Providence, and Myrna and Kent Boom, of Corona del Mar, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Martha Norman, of Lamoni; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; one granddaughter, Allison Ziebell; and two brothers-in-law, Howard Norman and Curt Womeldorff.

Fredregill Funeral Home of Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
