Harold Carlson, 89, of Story City, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at Bethany Manor. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with Pastor Stephen Anenson officiating. Burial will be in Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Harold Carlson was born on December 21, 1918 in Moline, Illinois. to Peter and Olga (Johnson) Carlson. He graduated from Haze1ton (Idaho) High School in 1936. He attended Twin Falls (Idaho) Business School. He was employed by John Deere in Ankeny for 33 years. He was married to Eva Guritz on October 1, 1966.

Harold was a member of the Ankeny Kiwanis; Resurrection Lutheran Church in Ankeny; and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Carlson of Story City; daughter, Sue (Gary) Trampel of Story City; son, Tim Carlson of Polk City; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold Carlson of Lynnville, Massachusetts; and sister, Bonnie (Merrill) Bullock of Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Anne Gustafson.

Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
