Beulah Olive Geer, 91, of the Madrid Home, died Easter Sunday, March 23, at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. Burial will be in Colo Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home, 101 Benton St., in Slater.

Beulah Olive Geer was born March 1, 1917, in Withrow, Wash., to Charles and Etta (Thomas) Thompson. She spent most of her childhood in the Yakima Valley and moved with her mother to Panora after her father passed away. After completing high school and normal school, she became a rural schoolteacher. She met her future husband while working at Swift and Co., and married Marion (Doc) Geer June 10, 1947. They moved to Slater from Des Moines in 1954, and lived there until retiring to Lucerne, Mo., almost 30 years later. One year after "Doc's" death in 1987, she moved to Cheyenne, Wyo. She enjoyed meeting many new friends and becoming an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for 14 years until she moved back to the Slater area in 2002. She died 21 years to the day of her husband's death in 1987.

She enjoyed being active in church activities, taking trips with A.A.R.P., and spending time with family and friends. She had a wide variety of interests, which included Bible study, music, animals, drawing, learning about nature and birdwatching.

She is survived by one son, Marion (Valerie) Geer, of Des Moines; two daughters, Karleen (John) Dagit, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Joetta Johnson, of Boone; six grandchildren, Scott (Ruth), Chad, Mark, Kirsten (Joe), John Jacob (Elena), and Casey (Sarah); and two great-grandchildren, J.D. and Harrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; two brothers, Russell and Cleo; and one granddaughter, Andrea.

Memorials may be given to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Drive, Cheyenne, WY., 82001.
