Mary Lue Anderson, 101, of Ames, died Saturday, March 1, at Green Hills Health Care Center. A private family service will be held.

Mary Lue Anderson was born Feb. 14, 1907, in Boone, to Dennis and Anne (Main) Peters. She married Carl "Andy" Anderson. After Carl retired from the Iowa Highway Commission in 1971, they moved to Prescott, Ariz. They returned to live in Boone in 1982, and in 1991, she moved to Green Hills Retirement Community.

She is survived by one nephew, D. Dennis Shafer, of Jeffersonton, Va.; two nieces, Melinda Schaufer, of Wisconsin, and Margaret Jacobson, of Boone; and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one niece, Mary Lue Whitmer.

Stevens Memorial Chapel and Cremation Service in Ames is entrusted with her care.
