Pamela Ann Robinson Hein, 58, of Boone, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the Boone County Hospital after a two-year illness. Her body has been cremated. There will be a private graveside service. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Pamela Ann Robinson was born March 1, 1949, in Ames, the daughter of Charles Herbert and Frances May (Kilborn) Robinson. She graduated from United Community School in Boone County in 1967, and then attended Iowa State University for two years. She had lived in Boone County all her life. She married Larry Hein in 1968. They divorced in 1980. They had two sons. She worked in homecare as a caregiver for senior citizens.

She was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames. When she was young and living on the farm, she enjoyed her horses. She also was an avid reader of books of all kinds.

She is survived by her mother, "Fran" Robinson, of Ames; her son, Lance Christopher Hein, and his wife, Mary, and his daughter, Hailey Layne Hein Severson, all of Boone; her son, Brenten David Hein, of Boone; her brother, Steve Robinson, and his wife, Joanne, of rural Boone, and their daughters, Sarah Robinson, of Marion, and Angie Robinson, of Grimes; the companionship and care help of Steve Meadows, of Boone; and also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles "Chuck" Robinson.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at a senior day care facility.

Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story streets of Boone, is in charge of arrangements.
