THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, February 19, 2008.

Max L. Bailey, 93, of DeLand, Fla., and longtime farmer from Ames, died Monday, Feb. 11, at Emerald Crest Nursing Home in Victoria, Minn. Inurnment will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Max was a past member of the Ames Kiwanis Club, Collegiate United Methodist Church and the Iowa State University Symphony Orchestra. He enjoyed tennis, fishing and playing his violin.

He is survived by one sister, Thelma (Robert) Rummel; children, Gary (Donna), Dean (Julie), and Connie (Lance) Wight; grandchildren, Eric, Jon and Chris Bailey, and Andrea Lee; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Pauline.
