THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, February 12, 2008.

Richard L. Hohn, of Lake Elsinore, Calif., died Thursday, Jan. 24. Private services were Feb. 1 at Riverside National Cemetery in California.

Richard L. Hohn was born in Nevada to Hans and Leota Hohn. He graduated from high school in 1956 and then joined the U.S. Marines in 1956, where he was discharged in 1962. He moved to California and worked in the construction trade for 45 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edna; two sons, Terry (Rhonda) and Frank (Anita); one daughter, Janet (Bob); five grandchildren, Lauren, Mark, Adam, Rachelle and Joe; two brothers, Jerry (Mary Fran) and Steven (Paula); and three sisters, Mary (Robert) Munson, Helen (Richard) Opperman and Sharon (Gerald) Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark; and many friends.

He was proud to have received the Nevada High School Hall of Fame award in 2001. He enjoyed his family and friends, and lived his life as he wanted.

A memorial fund has been established.
