Luther Sletvold Urness, 70, of Mason City, formerly of Randall, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 in Mason City. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 28, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall.

Luther Urness was born Oct. 18, 1937 to Edgar 0. and Gerda J. (Sletvold) Urness in Wadena, Minnesota. He had lived in North and South Dakota, working for Gurney Nursery at Yankton, South Dakota. Luther moved to Randall in 1978.

He is survived by one sister, Grace (Warren) Johnson of Cambridge, Iowa; six nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great nieces and nephews.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother David Urness.
