Gary L. Webb, 69, of Roland, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial followed in the Roland Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.
Gary L. Webb was born December 26, 1938 to Chester and Betty (Rash) Webb in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Algona High School in 1956. Gary served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 some of which was in Vietnam. Gary and Diane Markla were married on Sept. 28, 1962. He moved to Roland in 1962 and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Roland American Legion. He was 'a truck driver for Space Carriers and Roland Transport.
Gary liked to golf up at Radcliffe and enjoyed watching the Iowa Games, doing puzzles, reading, and country western music.
Survivors include his wife Diane Webb of Roland; four sons, Michael (Paulette) Webb of Manly, Alan (Sally) Webb of Story City, Teri (Melissa) Webb of Norwalk, and Steve (Karla) Webb of Roland; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
His parents preceded him in death.
Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland is handling the arrangements.
