Lois E. Johnson, 86, of Story City, Iowa passed away Jan. 8, 2008 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial followed at the, Roland Cemetery.

Lois E. Johnson was born March 13, 1921 to Mandus and Agnes S. (Birkeland) Rod in, Roland, Iowa. Lois graduated from Roland High School in 1939. She and Gerhard J. Johnson were married Oct. 27, 1945 at Bergen Lutheran Church. Lois was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and worked at J.C. Penney, R.H. Donnelley, and Severson's Grocery Store. Lois enjoyed cross stitching, baking — known for her kringla and spritz cookies, ballroom dancing, and playing cards.

Lois is survived by one daughter, Mary (Jeff) Schultz of Centennial, Colorado; one sister Maxine Sande of Roland; and three grandchildren, Amie Bement, Amanda Schultz, and Kyle Schultz.

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Memorials may be designated to Bethany Life Communities.
