THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, January 22, 2008.

Larry Ely, 64, formerly of the Grinnell area, died Thursday, Jan. 17, in Mobile, Ala. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

He is survived by two children, Christopher (Kathy) Ely, of Montezuma, and Tami (Brad) Cook, of Belle Plaine; three sisters, Florine Good, of Ames, Nancy (Charles) Stevens, of Maricopa, Ariz., and Lucinda "Suzie" Shook, of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Laurel "Bud" (Mildred) Ely Jr., of Ames, and Tommy Ely, of Glenwood; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Larry Ely Memorial Fund.
