Beverly Jean Jackson, 77, of Ames, died Friday, Jan. 4, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in Allerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
Beverly was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Lineville, to Dorris "Shug" and Doris Laughlin. She married James M. Jackson March 1, 1948, in Chariton. She lived in Ames for 52 years.
She worked at the Travel Lodge Motel, ISU Child Development Lab School and as a home daycare provider. She and her husband enjoyed driving their 1930 Model A Ford car in parades and to car shows. Friends and family will remember her for her homemade cookies and breads.
She is survived by two sons, Morris and Tom Jackson, of Ames; three daughters, Jean Monahan, of Ames, Donna (Ralph) Oliver, of Cambridge, and Ellen Deal, of Arkansas; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Laughlin, of Lineville; one sister, Sue Ellen (Don) Doorneweerd, of Whittier, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Dean Johnston, of Indianola; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one great-grandson; one son-in-law; one brother and two sisters.
