Edwin Thomas Hauge, 92, of Story City, died Monday Dec. 31, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Edwin Thomas Hauge, 92, died Monday, Dec. 31, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Visitation will be one hour prior the service. Burial will be in South St. Petri Cemetery, rural Gilbert.
Edwin Thomas Hauge was born June 4, 1915, in Ossian to Halvor T. and Anna E. (Olson) Hauge. He was baptized in Stavanger Lutheran Church near Ossian and was confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.
He graduated from Story City High School in 1933 and completed three years of courses at Iowa State University, which was sponsored by Iowa Bankers Association.
During World War II, he served with the First Allied Airborne Army, Ninth Air Force and Ninth Troop Carrier Command in Europe for two years after training in the United States.
He married Alta Eleanora Peterson June 6, 1948, in Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He was active in community affairs and was associated with Story County State Bank as cashier for 46 years. Later, he served as cashier of Story County Bank and Trust in Story City and retired in June 1985. He was a member of the American Legion Post 59 in Story City. He loved his Savior and was general secretary of Immanuel Lutheran Church for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Alta, of Story City; one brother, Bennett M. Hauge, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one niece, Kim Baughman; and one nephew, Charles Hauge.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
