LaVonne J. Olson, 69, of Story City, died Sunday, Dec. 16, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Inurnment will be at a later date in Story City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

LaVonne J. Olson was born June 21, 1938, in Renwick, to Bill and Hazel (Lunning) McGonigle. She married Maynard Olson April 27, 1957. She was clubhouse manager at Riverbend Golf Course in Story City for 17 years.

She is survived by her husband, Maynard, of Story City; one son, Don (Lori) Olson, of Story City; one daughter, Patti Lutjen, of Story City; four grandchildren, Justin, Bryce, Trent and Ryan; two sisters, Theola (Norman) Peterson, of Gilbert, and Doris (Delbert) Fagerland, of Normal, Ill.; and one brother, Allen (LuAnne) McGonigle, of Jewell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill McGonigle.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
