Dana Emery, 55 of Kelley, passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 1, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

Dana Emery was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Des Moines, to Elwin and Barbara (Bolt) Flinn. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1970. He married Sandra Engelman July 13, 1991, in Kelley. He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed listening to talk radio. His passion was his Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He could never have enough of them.

He is survived by and will be missed greatly by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Benjamin (Teresa) Engelman, of Aurora, Colo., and Aaron (Jackie) Engelman, of Okinawa, Japan; one daughter, Jessie Engelman, of Central Valley, N.Y.; his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Vic Giebelstein, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; four brothers, Jon Emery, of Ames, Todd Emery, of Gilbert, Bob Emery, of Tucson, Ariz., and Terry Emery, of Nevada; one stepsister, Bev Larson, of Texas; two stepbrothers, Jerry Giebelstein, of Ames, and Andy Giebelstein, of Des Moines; and one grandchild, Taylor Engelman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elwin Flinn.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
