DIED - Mr. Shears, [sic Shearer] died very suddenly Sunday morning at the breakfast table, dropping dead in his father's arms. The funeral was held Tuesday [Thursday?] at 10 o'clck by Rev. Rosef...er.

[NOTE: 'Ransom' was the third child of Silas Igo and Elizabeth Jane (Shenkle) Shearer and a brother of L. D. and J.S.A. Shearer. It is said that he died of mercury poisining as a result of mining in Colorado. He was 42. /H/]
