E. L. DIGGINS DIED TUESDAY MORNING

People of Collins and community were profoundly saddened to learn of the death of E.L. DIGGINS, former local resident, which occurred at his home in Des Moines Tuesday morning, March 17.

Mr. Diggins, who was 61 years of age was a brother-in-law of L. D. Shearer, Mrs. Minnie Kimberley and Mrs. Wm. Heintz. Death came after an illness of more than two years.

funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Collins Church of Christ at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. DeLoss Marken of Des Moines in charge. Interment will be in Collins Evergreen Cemetery.

Ernest L., son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Diggins, was born near Melbourne, Iowa, March 12, 1870, and departed his life March 17, 1931, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 61 years and 5 days.

In 1894 he was united in marriage to Catherine Shearer, who survives him.

Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, Ora of Des Moines and Henry of Melbourne, three sisters, Mrs. Nome Fluke of Des Moines, Mrs. Coral Miller of Eldora and Mrs. Lottie Bradley of Wyanet, Illinois, and a host of relatives and friends.

Brief services were conducted at Newlen's funeral Home by the Odd Fellows Thursday morning, after which the body was brought to Collins. Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock from the Church of Christ. Rev. De Loss Marken of Des Moines had charge, and burial was made in Collins Evergreen cemetery.
