NEVADA - Viola M. Johnson, 90, of Nevada, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada.

Viola was born August 31, 1917 in Nevada, Iowa, the daughter of John Peter and Severie (Hausken) Larson. She graduated from Nevada High School. Viola was united in marriage to Dale Johnson on March 14, 1942 in Princeton, Missouri. Dale preceded Viola in death on November 2, 1997.

Viola was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg where she had served on several committees.

Viola is survived by 3 sons and a daughter-in-law: Harlan Johnson of Knoxville, Iowa, Harold Johnson of Ames, Iowa, Joel and Barbara Johnson of Knoxville, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters: Pearl Cooling of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mickey Cessna of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Darlene McDaniel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; and 2 great-grandchildren: Jonathan Davis Johnson and Grace Pauline Johnson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Interment will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:30 ? 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church and to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
