Marilyn A. Peirce, 76, of Slater, died today at the Madrid Home in Madrid. Services are pending with Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home of Slater.

Marilyn Ann Peirce, of Slater, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Madrid Home in Madrid. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.
Marilyn Ann Peirce was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Slater, to Carroll and Mildred (Floden) Tweedt. She graduated from Waldorf in 1951 and Drake in 1958. She married Ronald Peirce Aug. 16, 1958. She taught early elementary in Clarion, Ankeny, Hinsdale, Illinois, Urbandale and Ballard. She owned and operated "Free To Be" preschool in Slater for 15 years. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and will be buried in Bethlehem Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald, of Slater; her mother, Mildred Tweedt, of Slater; one son, Jayson (Carol), of Slater; one daughter, Dina (Bill Vogt) Peirce, of Polk City; one sister, Colleen (Jack) Lyster, of Cedar Rapids; one sister-in-law, Joyce Tweedt, of Slater; two step-grandsons; two step great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Arlen.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.
