Svyatoslav Dukarskiy, 69, of Ames, died Thursday, Aug. 9. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Adams Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Story Memorial Garden Cemetery in Ames.

Svyatoslav Dukarskiy was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Moscow, Russia, to Meyer Dukarskiy and Nina Dukarskaya-Tishenko. He was an atomic energy research engineer. He enjoyed alpine skiing, tennis, swimming and biking.

He is survived by his daughter, Anna Beresnev and her husband, Igor Beresnev; two grandchildren, Maria Beresnev and Pavel Beresnev; and two brothers, Oleg Dukarskiy and Julian Dukarskiy.

His wife preceded him in death in 1999.
