Thomas L. Trunnell, M.D., 95, died May 11, 2006, in Sarasota, Florida. Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1629 DeWitt Street, Ellsworth, Iowa, with inurnment following in the Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth.
Dr. Trunnell was born February 25, 1911, in Rushville, Missouri. He graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1929 and from the University of Iowa, College of Medicine in 1937. Dr. Trunnell was in the Navy Medical Corps during World War II.
He was a member of Church of the Palms-Presbyterian in Sarasota, and First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, IA.
He retired after 35 years as a dermatologist in Waterloo and moved to Naples, Florida, in 1977. In 1995, he moved to Sarasota. He was a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Iowa Medical Society and American Medical Society.
Survivors include daughters Susan T. Tagatz of Edina, Minn., and Sharon T. Bonnet of Sarasota; a son, Dr. Thomas N. of Tampa; a sister, Wava Bandujo of California; and seven grandchildren. His wife of 67 years, Vivian Dahl, predeceased him.
