Betty Marie Foster died peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, in West Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by loving family. Betty was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa and raised in Ames, Iowa. She was a longtime active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Betty was reunited in death with husband Wayne E. Foster; father and mother R.J. and Anna M. [Hia] Anderson; brother Lawrence Anderson; and infant daughter Phyllis Ricketts.

Betty will be missed by her surviving family members: sons Donald (Susan) and David Ricketts; daughters Patricia (Ricketts) Lee, Linda (Ricketts) Nielson and Susan Ricketts; stepsons Steven and Thomas (Patty) Foster; stepdaughter Kathryn Foster; grandchildren Emily, Justin and Jonathan Ricketts, Jennifer Lee, and Ann and Elizabeth Nielson; step grandchildren Robyn, Lisa, Jillian and Courtney Foster, and Benjamin and Tristan Shanks; and great grandchildren Cody Collins, and Brady and Jack Ricketts; sisters Lois Frazier, Maxine Anderson and Arlene Harrison; and many nieces and nephews.

At Betty's request, no funeral services will be held. A family celebration of Betty's life will take place on Mother's Day, May 13, 2007 with private interment at Ames Municipal Cemetery.
