Marjorie Ihlene Holland, 85, of Roland, died Tuesday, June 26, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.
Ihlene Holland was born June 23, 1922, near Roland, to Irvin and Myrtle (Wierson) Goodmanson. She graduated from Roland High School in 1939. She married Arthur Holland April 5, 1941. She worked in Highway Planning at the Department of Transportation for 25 years. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church. She lived in Roland, except from 1950 to 1964 when they lived in Huxley and then returned to Roland.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur, of Roland; two daughters, Karen (Dennis) Soderstrum, of Story City, and Linda Ritland, of Roland; one daughter-in-law, Hope Holland (Al) Mullins, of Saukville, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Strum (Darrell) Larson, of Roland, and Janet (Arnel) Hallauer, of Ames; and one brother, Robert (Barbara) Goodmanson, of Folsom, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Holland.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland.
Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
