Mildred I. Brown, 90, of Ames, died today. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Mildred I. "Millie" Brown, 90, of Ames, died Wednesday, June 27, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Shriver Cemetery in Harvard.

Mildred I. "Millie" Brown was born Dec. 6, 1916, in Putnam County, Mo., to Ray and Nellie Couchman. She was a graduate of Sewal High School and Iowa State University Food Service. She married Clio "Junior" Brown April 2, 1936, in Corydon. They farmed in Wayne County until 1959. She was employed by Ames Schools Food Service until her retirement in 1989. She moved to Nevada in 2001.

She is survived by her son, Marion "Pete" (Elaine) Brown, of North Mankato, Minn.; grandchildren, Kevin Brown, of Urbandale, Kelly (Mike) Green, of Raleigh, N.C., and Kerry (Liz) Brown, of Sioux City; step-grandchildren, Richard (Jeri) Miller and Gary (Steph) Miller, both of Cleveland, Minn.; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one sister and one brother, of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
