Linda Lee Peel, 55, of Colo died of cancer Tuesday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Cremation will follow the service and burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Colo Cemetery.

Mrs. Peel, born in Chicago, was a resident of Story City four years prior to moving to Colo in 1977. She was a substitute counselor for Youth and Shelter Services and formerly worked at Bourns in Ames for 20 years. She was a member of Colo United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Marty; two daughters, Dawn Peel of Nevada and Nikki Peel of Colo; a son, Scott of Nevada; her mother, Frances Ballard of Ames; a brother, Robert Ballard of Osceola; a sister Sharon Toppenberg of Ames; a step-brother, Larry Ballard of Colorado; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
