Norman Luing, 72, of Nevada, died Sunday, June 10, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., prior to the memorial service. Inurnment will be in Collins Evergreen Cemetery.
Norman Luing was born June 8, 1935, in Collins, the son of Lyle and Loda (Link) Luing. He was a lifetime self-employed trucker and retired in 1999.
He is survived by three sons, Marlin (Carol) Luing, of Bondurant, Danny (Debbie) Luing, of Sparta, Wis., and Eric (Julie) Luing, of Melbourne; two daughters, Janet (Brian) Banning, of Ankeny, and Julie (Tim) Heisel, of Gold Valley, Ariz.; three sisters, Geri Littrel, of Nevada, Virginia (Clarence) Mitchell, of Nevada, and Georgina (Sherman) Stole, of Ostrander, Minn. His many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Juanita Mayes; one grandson; one brother, Bill Luing; one sister, Betty Post; and one brother-in-law, Thomas Littrel.
Memorials may be made to Story County Medical Center Foundation.
Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
