Steven Glen Coughenour, 47, formerly of Colo, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 29, at Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services were held May 3 at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett, Mo. The cremains have been returned to Colo and a memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at the Colo United Methodist Church. A lunch will be served immediately following the service. The cremains will be interred at the Colo Cemetery later that day.
Steven Glen Coughenour was born Dec. 14, 1959, in Marshalltown, the son of Lloyd and Jane (Dalrymple) Coughenour. He lived in Colo until adulthood when he left to work on a farm near Oskaloosa and then moved to Kennett, Mo. He married Nancy Price July 5, 1996, in Kennett, Mo. He worked on the maintenance crew at the Emerson Plant there until it closed and then a similar job at Loxscreen at Hayti, Mo., until his death.
Steve was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and playing football, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one son, Troi, of Kennett, Mo.; mother, Jane Coughenour, of Colo; three sisters, Nancy (Earl) Milleson, of Colo, Ellen Coughenour, of North Pole, Alaska, and Betty (Craig) Mansfield, of Maxwell; one stepdaughter, Angie Savage, of Wappapello, Mo.; and nephews, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family for his son, Troi.
