Kenneth L. Fossel, 83, of Gilbert, died Saturday, May 12, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Kenneth L. Fossel, 83, of Gilbert, died Saturday, May 12, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Burial will be in South St. Petri Cemetery.

Kenneth L. Fossel was born Oct. 28, 1923, near Gilbert, to Amos and Emma (Larson) Fossel. He married Lenore Newhouse Williams in March 1961. She died Jan. 31, 1991. He later married Margaret Traub Miller. He was a member of Gilbert Lutheran Church and farmed near Gilbert all of his life. He enjoyed spending his winters in Donna, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Gilbert; five stepchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 18 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lenore; two brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Gilbert Lutheran Church.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
