THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, March 18, 2007.
Vivian Marlene Sesker, 74, of Cambridge, passed on Friday, March 16, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Vivian Marlene Sesker was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Cambridge, the daughter of Kahl John and Georgia (Sutton) Sesker. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1950 and worked for General Telephone and Verizon for 43 years.
She moved back to Cambridge from Grinnell in the mid-1990s to care for her mother. She was a member of Cambridge United Methodist Church, the UMW, the Dorcas Society, the Soroptimist Club of Grinnell, the Cambridge Historical Society and was a Master Gardener. She loved nature and birds, and enjoyed working with her flowers.
She is survived by a brother, Larry (Linda) Sesker, of Des Moines; three sisters, Dorothy Berhow, of Kansas City, Mo., Nancy (Curtis) Schwab, of Kansas City, Mo., and Linda Sinclair, of Ankeny; and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceved in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cambridge United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
Memorials may be made to Cambridge United Methodist Church.
