THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Della (Alleman) Blize died Thursday, March 15, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery immediately following the service.

Della (Alleman) Blize was born Nov. 25, 1903, on the family farm near Alleman, to Morris and Harriett (Graber) Alleman, where she lived until her marriage to William Blize Feb. 25, 1925. Della and William moved to Slater where they farmed for many years. In 1962 they retired and moved to a home in Slater. Della and William celebrated 50 years of marriage in February 1975.

Della is survived by her son, Harold (Marcia) Blize, of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Tracy (Ben) Condon, of Des Moines, Bret (Amy) Blize, of Ankeny, Amanda Blize, of Orlando, Fla., and Andrew Blize, of West Des Moines; and great-grandchildren, Chandler and Kennade Condon, of Des Moines.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in 1975; sisters, Lavina Alleman and Leva Muehlenthaler; and her brother, Delmar Alleman.

Visitation with the family will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday, March 19, at Salem United Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made to Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman.
Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
