Funeral services for Pierce Miles Jones are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Colo Methodist Church.

Pierce Miles Jones was born February 17, 1914, in Randolph, Nebraska to John O. and Mable Tucker Jones. He was the youngest of 5 boys with 3 younger sisters. He was the survivor of his family. He attended country school, farmed with his father. He married Mabel Landanger on June 12, 1937 in Pierce, NE. They moved to Iowa in 1944. He farmed in Zearing, Colo and St. Anthony, retiring in the late seventies, and moved back to Colo. He had a large garden that he shared with many. He was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church.

He is survived by daughter Sherry Turner (Ron) of Nevada, IA, daughter, Julie Campbell (John Smith) of Boone, IA and a son Lanny (Shawn) Jones of Joplin, MT. Seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and his wife Mabel in 2000.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing, Iowa is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
