Harry Charles Haverly died this morning at his home, 211 East Lincoln Way. Death occurred about 9:30 o'clock, following several years of failing health. He had been suffering with rheumatism for a number of years, and about five years ago he was taken worse. Mr. Haverly was born in 1869, and came to Ames at the age of nine with his parents, Mr and Mrs C. E. Haverly. Soon after reaching the majority, he became interested with his brother Frank in the transfer business, and has remained an owner of the Haverly Transfer Co ever since. Frank Haverly died two years ago and since the business has been under the management of a son of the deceased, Max Haverly. At the age of 23, Mr Haverly was united in marriage to Miss Lena Estergard of Ames, who with her two children, Max 24 and Mrs Oris Mason 25, of Moline, Ill, still survive. Besides his wife and children Mr Haverly is survived by two grandchildren, Donald and Russell Mason, his father Justice C. E. Haverly, of Ames, a brother John W. Haverly and three sisters, Mrs Elmer Coffin, Mrs A C Foster and Mrs Ben Nelson, all of whom reside in Ames. There have been no funeral arrangements made as yet, awaiting word from the daugher, Mrs Mason. The body has been taken to the Adams undertaking parlors. Born 4-10-1869, married 10-26-1892.Funeral arrangements for the late Harry Charles Haverly, who died yesterday morning at his home, 211 East Lincoln Way, will be held at the home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Dr. F. C. Edwards, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church will be in charge. Interment will be made in the Ames Cemeter. Ames Daily Tribune and Ames Evening Times, January 18, 1921
