Linda Charles, 58, of Ames, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Linda Anne Charles died Saturday, Nov. 11. Please join us for a casual gathering in celebration of Linda's life from 5 to 8 tonight at Dublin Bay Pub and Grill, 320 S. 16th St., in Ames.

Linda Anne Charles was born July 23, 1948, in Los Angeles. She joined Don and Anne Charles in Ames in November 1951. She attended Ames public schools, graduating from Ames High School. She graduated from Iowa State University and worked as a journalist, including with The Ames Tribune and the Iowa State University Information Service.

She is survived by her parents, Don and Anne Charles, of Ames; three siblings, Christopher Charles, of San Francisco, Laura Penlerick, of Wayne, Neb., and Andrew Charles, of Naperville, Ill.; eight nieces and nephews; and many friends in the Ames community.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ames Animal Shelter.
