Jackie Blaine Yoder
Jackie Blaine Yoder, 68 of Rowlett, Texas, formerly of Nevada died on Friday, October 13, 2006 at his home in Texas. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 18 at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Scott Milsom officiating. Military rites will be held at the cemetery.
Jackie was born on May 10, 1938 in Cainsville, Missouri to Earl Henry and Mary Elnore (Longfellow) Yoder. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. While in the service, Jackie received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Aviator Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Medal with 32 Oak Leaf Clusters one awarded for Valor, 2 O/S Bars. Jackie married E. Louise Jarrell on January 4, 1962 in Mt. Airy, NC. They moved to Nevada in 1971 and then moved to Texas in 1998. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor. Jackie was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar, and woodworking.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Eunice Louise Yoder of Rowlett, Texas; a son, Joseph W. Yoder of Urbana, IL; 5 daughters, Donna Marie Balmanno of Sandy, UT, Deborah Kathleen Shannon of Madrid, Jacqueline Louise Ligas of Des Moines, Mary Cristine Williams and Evelyn Sue Yoder, both of Nevada; 2 brothers, Alan Yoder of Story City and Gary Yoder of Owatonna, MN; 2 sisters, Donna Sturdevant of Kansas City, MO and Marilyn Apland of Cambridge; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bobbie Yoder and a granddaughter Candice Williams in 1983.
Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with Jackie's arrangements.
