Alice R. Richeson, 89, of Nevada, died Sept. 8, 2006, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Nevada, with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in Colo.Alice was born Aug. 25, 1917, at New Hampton, the daughter of John and Mary (Fitzgerald) Croker. After graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1934, she attended Iowa Central Business College for two years. Alice was united in marriage to Rodney Richeson June 24, 1944. Rodney preceded her in death in November 1991. Alice had worked as a secretary at RH Donnelley in Nevada for 20 years. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. She enjoyed Democratic politics, reading and cheering on the Hawkeyes. She was an avid church attendee.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Debra Perry, of Nevada; two sons, David Richeson, of Nevada, and Jack Richeson, of Cleveland; one grandson, Steven Perry, of Ames; and two sisters, Mary Problys, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dolores Croker, of Ames.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Stephen Richeson in 1967; a brother, John Croker; and two sisters, Zelda Dankbar and Zita Noid.
Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
