Louie A. Krausman Jr., 82, of Collins, died Thursday, Aug. 24, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 28, at the Collins United Methodist Church in Collins with Paster Don Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Collins.
Louie A. Krausman Jr. was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Des Moines, the son of Louie A. and Viola (Glantz) Krausman. He married Katie Dennis on Aug. 11, 1945, in Harlton, England. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1941. He served in the Air Force in World War II with the 339th Fighter Squadron. He worked as a road grater maintainer/operator for Story County, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the Collins United Methodist Church in Collins.
He is survived by his wife Katie, of Collins; four sons, Dennis (Carol) Krausman, of Lone Tree, Colo., Kenneth (Vicki) Krausman, of Collins, Terry (Agnes) Krausman, of Ames, and Mark (Janice) Krausman, of Nevada; one daughter, Doreen (Roger) Callender, of Bloomington, Ill.; eleven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in April of 1983.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Collins United Methodist Church in Collins with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames or the Collins United Methodist Church Trustees.
Fredregill Funeral Home in Collins is in charge of arrangements.
