Michael J. Shannon, 57, of Bryan, Ohio, died Saturday, June 17, in the emergency room of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio. Memorial services were Wednesday, June 21, at First Lutheran Church in Bryan, Ohio, with the Rev. Wayne Clapp officiating.

Michael was born on Aug. 20, 1948, in Davenport, the son of Violet (Grimmer) and Virgil J. Shannon. He married Maria Poorman July 17, 1982, in Denton, Texas.

He was a graduate of Iowa State University and an engineer for TGM Inc. of Bryan, Ohio. He attended the Christian Family Fellowship, was a member of the Williams County Historical Society, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Rapid Phototyping Association and Sigma Pi fraternity, and he enjoyed playing golf, softball and bowling.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four sons, Don Virgil Shannon, of Carollton, Texas, Michael Shannon Jr., of Troy, Ohio, Ron Shannon, of Bryan, Ohio, and Tony Shannon, of Bryan, Ohio; two brothers, Dr. Bob (Elaine) Shannon, of La Canada, Calif., and Thom (Gina) Shannon, of Benieia, Calif.; one sister, Patricia (Tom) Horton, of Ames; and nieces and nephews.
