Chancey Welton, an old Nevada Hotel Keeper, well known to some of our older citizens died at the Soldier's Home in Marshalltown on the 16th. He has resided in Mapleton for the past ten years up to about a month ago when he went to the home to spend the rest of his days. He was taken to Mapleton for burial, where he was laid to rest by the side of his deceased companion through life, who was called home about a year ago. Mr. Welton was in life a good whole souled, jovial fellow well liked and highly respected by all who knew him. He left Nevada many years ago, nevertheless a kindly interest was felt in his welfare by all of his old time Story county acquaintances. He leaves one son Ashley, who lives in Des Moines.
