Zearing Zephers
One of the saddest deaths that has ever occurred in our town was that of Florence Horst, wife of J. S. Horst, who passed from this life about 9 o'clock, Sunday evening, the 10th. inst., at her home just east of town. Death was caused by heart failure. Mrs. Horst was apparently in good health on Friday, and was over near Nevada visiting. She took sick on Saturday and seemed to realize taht she was going to die as she told some of the family that she was going to die and gave some directions as to how she wished to be dressed. She leaves a husband and a little son, Daniel, about 11 years old. The funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock Monday, by Rev. Mr. Skogsberg, in the east church. On account of the weather being so warm it was thought advisable not to keep the remains until friends could reach here, they being quite a distance away. Mr. Horst and little son have the sympathy of the entire community.

Roland Record, same date, separate page.

Mrs. J. S. Horst of Zearing, died very suddenly last Sunday evening. Death was wholly unexpected and came with out warning, caused by heart trouble and a rush of blood to the head. She was a large lady and apparently in perfect health up to the time of her death. She leaves a husband and a little son about 9 years old to mourn her death. The funeral demise was held Monday, and was a very sad one, the neighbors and friends not being permitted to view the remains. Thus again we are forcibly reminded that "In the midst of life, there is death."
