THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, May 23, 2006.

J.Maurine (Johnston) Kangley of Mercedes, Texas, and formerly of Nevada, died Saturday, May 20, in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Maurine was born July 1, 1910, in Eldora, to John A. and Roxy (Early) Johnston. She married Gerald D. Kangley Jan. 24, 1934. She was Story County Extension secretary for 14 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Janese Crowley of Blaine, Minn; two sons, Jack (Mary) Kangley of Hampton and Joe (Sally) Kangley of Rockwell City; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, William.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
