THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, May 21, 2006.

Edna E. Robinson, 92, of Colo, died from complications of cancer Friday, May 19, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, at Colo United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Roth officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery following a luncheon.

Edna was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Shipley to Robert H. and Esther A. (Beckwith) Robinson. She was a graduate of Colo High School and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She retired in 1979 from a long teaching career. She had taught in Center Point, Oxford Junction, Osage, Denison, Dayton, Rockwell City and Colo. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona, traveling, gardening and reading. She was famous for her delicious tea rings and cinnamon crescent rolls. She will be remembered fondly by many former students and friends.

She is survived by one brother, Virgil Robinson of Colo; two sisters, Dorothy Horneck of Sante Fe, N.M., and Opal R. Wilson of Prairie City; two sister-in-laws, Shirley Robinson of Colo and Helen Robinson of Nevada; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Maxine, Margaret Robinson and Lucille Mathis; two brothers, Clayton and Doyle Robinson; and one nephew, Donnie Robinson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 22, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
A memorial fund has been established.
