THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, May 18, 2006.

Jim Olsson, 46, of Ames, died of congestive heart disease Tuesday, May 16, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames with Father Terry Rassmussen presiding. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Jim was born Aug. 29, 1959, in Ames to Stan and Pat (Foley) Olsson. He graduated from Ames High School in 1977. He was employed by Burke Marketing in Nevada for 23 years. He was a very devoted father and uncle. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by one son, Tyler; his mother, Pat Olsson; one brother, Matt Olsson; four sisters, Julie (Shane) Keigley of North Carolina, Shelley (Fred) Rivers of Arizona, Carla (Charley) Turner and Marlene (Chris) Austin; and nieces and nephews, Lowell, Tyler, Traven, Freddie, Amanda, Jenna, Katie, P.J., Will and Logan.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a trust fund for his son, Tyler.
