Jos. Johnson Very Sick

Joe Johnson is very low. But little hopes of his recovery was expressed by the doctors last evening. As we go to press today we learn that he is a little easier. The doctors pronounce the trouble a complication of lung fever and pneumonia.

Jos. Johnson

Jos. Johnson, was born in Skaanavick, Norway, 45 years ago, died at his home in Roland, Saturday, January 18th, and was buried in the Roland Cemetery, Tuesday, the 21st at 3 o'clock. Funeral services were conductedat the east church, by Rev. Holter, and were attended by an unusually large crowd.

Heleft the land of his birth when but eight years of age, and located in Candle county, Illinois, where he lived until nine years ago, when he moved to Roland., where he has since made his home. For the past four years he has been proprietor of the Iowa Central House and runs a dray.

Joe Johnson was well known to all in this vicinity, as a good hard working, whole souled fellow who could not do enough to oblige a friend, and held the enmnity of none.

The business houses were closed during the hours of the funeral services, which shows the respect in which he was held by his neighbors and townsmen.

He leaves a widow but no children to mourn his death.
