THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, April 14, 2006.
Margaret E. Murray, 83, of Boone and Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone died Thursday, April 13, at Mercy Medical Center of Des Moines.
The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 17, at Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story streets of Boone. There will be visitation to follow the memorial service. Private family disposition of the cremated remains will be at a later date.
Margaret was born on Oct. 29, 1922, in Three Rivers, Michigan, the daughter of Ernest and Anita Maddron Armstrong. She attended school in South Bend, Indiana. Margaret has lived in Boone since 1952, coming from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Margaret married James H. Murray Nov. 16, 1989, in Ames. She worked in food service as a baker with the Iowa State University Memorial Union for 26 years. She retired from the university in 1990.
She enjoyed fishing, embroidery and baking, and especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters; one great-granddaughter; and one son-in-law.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Jannice M. Keith of Des Moines, Iowa; her daughter, Donna Jean Mason and her husband Dick of Osceola, Indiana; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.
Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story streets of Boone is in charge of the arrangements.
