THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, April 6, 2006.

Etta Kosbau, 80, of Marshalltown, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 4, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center with her loving family at her side.

A service of celebration of Etta's life will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Marshalltown Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Bob Kosbau and the Rev. Steve Howe officiating. A reception with the family will be in the church fellowship hall following the service. There will be no visitation. A memorial fund is being established in Etta's name.

Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home is caring for Etta and her family.
Etta was born July 27, 1925, in Hillsboro, N.D., the daughter of August and Artie Radebaugh Munter. She received her education in the area of her birth and graduated from high school there. She later attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. She married Ralph Kosbau June 7, 1953, in Hillsboro, N.D., and the couple resided in Gilbert until moving to Marshalltown in December 2004. She worked as a secretary at the Gilbert schools and at the Heartland Agency in Ames.

While in Gilbert, she was a member of Gilbert Evangelical Free Church and more recently a member of Marshalltown Evangelical Free Church where she was involved with a small group Bible study and helped disciple others. She will be remembered for her love of God, love of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two children, Kathy Farnum-Womacks and her husband Steve of Bailey, Colo., and Bob Kosbau and his wife Jenny of Marshalltown; and six grandchildren, Sam, Lydia, Ben, Jacob, Holly and Nick. Also surviving is a special niece, Marj Hanson and her husband Kent of St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two sisters.
