FITCHPATRICK, W. P. (-1913)
THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, July 10, 1913, page 1. “W. P. FITCHPATRICK DEAD. – Meets Death In Auto Accident at Nevada, Tuesday Evening. W. P. Fitchpatrick, a prominent citizen of Nevada, and well known over the state as a lodgeman and politician, was instantly killed when he lost control of an auto he was driving on the Colo road Tuesday evening, the car turning turtle; the accident occurred near the Catholic church in east Nevada. At the time of going to press, we have only meager reports of the accident, but learn that a demonstrator of the car was up from Des Moines, and he in company with Mr. Fitchpatrick and several others, had gone for a ride, when the steering wheel broke, causing the machine to swerve into a ditch and turn over with the above fatal result. The remainder of the party sustained only slight injuries.”
