THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, February 23, 2006.

Esther Lariviere, 80, of Story City and formerly of Ames, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Bethany Manor in Story City. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, at Bethany Manor Chapel with the Rev. Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Emmetsburg.

Esther was born March 22, 1925, in Rodman to Nels and Bertha (Olson) Kallestad. She married Wilfred F. Lariviere in 1947 in Chicago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Church Circle, American Legion Auxiliary and Mary Greeley Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Lariviere of Oswego, Ill; one son, Richard (Janis) Lariviere of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, John Richard Lariviere of Oswego and Ann Elizabeth Lariviere of New York City; one sister, Orvilla Pils of Schofield, Wis.; and two brothers, Oscar Kallestad of Emmetsburg and Harold Kallestad of Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 16, 2005; one sister, Mildred Darrah; and one brother, Mattias Kallestad.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to Bethany Life in Story City.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
