Real Heavy Weight Family
Years ago there came to this county from Morris, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Olson and settled on a farm four miles south of Roland known at that time as the Oscar Thompson farm. Here they lived for several years eventually selling out and moving to Roland. The object here is to lay claim that the children of this family out-weigh any other family of like number in the county or state. Below is given weight of sons, daughters, sons and daughters-in-laws. For convenience the weight of the man and wife is given together, or combined weight of the two. Two sons are single and their weight appears separately. In this list is included Hector Olson who recently died.
Tom Olson 210 lbs
Bert Olson 196 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Olson 380 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Twedt 392 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. S. Peterson 502 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. Nute Enger 454 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. Hector Olson 343 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. Ole Enger 420 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. C. Johnson 400 lbs
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Olson 425 lbs
Total weight 3722 lbs
Average weight 206 7-0 lbs
Come on with your record if you think you can beat this - Hans Hustler in Roland Rockets. We can here add that Mr. and Mrs. Olson, while the former lived together weighed about 425, making the average for the family 207 pounds. This is a singular record and there is probably not a single family that can reach this mark.
